A really important note to make of Time Heist is the fact that again the Doctor ignored what the female character said, (in this case the all so sexy and not at all original bank lady,) and tells her to call him because one day she will need him. Although it is not exactly in the context he may as well be saying something along the lines of, ‘you’re only a woman and I am the Doctor and everyone needs me one day, so of course you will too, don’t worry I’ll set things right with my band of useless side-kicks that I keep around for the odd laugh and to look pretty beside me.’
I am so done with Steven Moffat.
Or, alternatively, if you want an intepretation for which there is actual textual evidence, it’s “here’s my number, one day you will need me, because why else would you have called me in the future to break into your bank right now”. And “you might have some regrets because the company you are running here is essentially torturing, murdering and displaying anyone with questionable intentions, you’ve repeatedly had clones of yours incinerated and you’re holding sentient aliens captive… generally not what people would associate with a clear conscience”. So “when you ask me to, I’m going to set one of these things right with my band of pretty useful sidekicks, without whom I wouldn’t have been able to enter this bank and unlock the vault”.
He literally had the proof right there, that something would make her want to change something about happened that day, because he was there. It’s a bit of a leap, but certainly a smaller leap then what you’re suggesting… where ever you are getting this from.
(And this was really a Stephen Thompson episode with what I assume minor alterations/additions by Moffat, but who cares about that.)
